In the Crosshairs: Intersections of Art and War

The opening reception for this gallery exhibition is on Saturday, March 3rd, from 3-4:30PM in the new Art Building West on the University of Iowa campus.

"The show features artists who make manifest in their work the very essence of the crosshairs between art and war, life and death. Artworks dismantle "truths" promoted in mass mediated images in order to reveal thought provoking and often skeptical realities. Where some pieces create a sense of hope and optimism, others provide scathing criticism of US involvement in wars of the past and present." (from a press release issued by The School of Art and Art History for the 22nd Annual Graduate Student Symposium)

I am one of approximately a dozen artists represented and have one painting, For God and Country (above), in this show that runs through March 9th.
